The Challenges

JB Construction 1 has achieved a significant milestone in the construction of the new Aldi store and car park development in Taunton by successfully completing up to the slab level. The project, valued at £1.4 million, is being delivered for our valued client, Arc Bauen.

With a focus on sustainability and community impact, JB Construction 1 has implemented innovative practices to ensure a reduced carbon footprint throughout construction.

One of the key environmentally friendly initiatives undertaken by JB Construction 1 is the careful management of materials on-site. Whilst completing the Cut and Fill stage, we have efficiently utilised existing materials, which are crushed, screened, and reused as needed. This approach minimises waste and reduces the need for transportation, resulting in a positive impact on the environment and the local community.

In addition to material management, JB Construction 1 has been actively involved in advising best practices throughout the project, working closely with the client. Their collaborative approach has led to the incorporation of a piling mat for Vibro Piling, which significantly improves ground conditions. This proactive decision ensures the stability and longevity of the new Aldi store and car park, guaranteeing the safety and satisfaction of future shoppers and visitors.

With the team’s dedication and expertise, the project is scheduled to be completed in October 2023.
