Project Details: A challenging Aldi Store build due to the high-water table in the area. The store was located near the River Trent. The Aldi store consisted of carparks, walkways adjacent to the tram line as well as deep pumping chambers for both foul and stormwater drainage. The building was vibro-piled due to the ground conditions.

The JB Construction 1 team faced a multitude of challenges during the build of the Aldi store near the River Trent. Perhaps the most prominent difficulty they encountered was the high-water table in the area. The team had to constantly find innovative ways to overcome this hurdle while ensuring the construction proceeded as planned. In addition to the high-water table, the presence of a tram line near the site and the need for deep pumping chambers further added to the complexity of the project. However, through perseverance and careful planning, the team was able to successfully overcome these challenges and deliver a high-quality build for the client.

One of the primary ways that the JB Construction 1 team overcame the challenge of the high-water table was by vibro-piling the building. This technique involved using specialized machinery to drive piles deep into the ground, creating a stable foundation for the building. By utilizing vibro-piling, the team was able to ensure the building‘s stability and minimize the impact of the high-water table on the construction. It was a time-consuming and labor-intensive process, but the team understood the importance of a strong foundation and worked tirelessly to ensure its success.
