The Challenges

Earthworks Package: Over all phases cut & fill approx. 60,000m3 of material all stabilised with the use of GPS dozers and excavators.

Project Details: 17 industrial units, including access roads, car parks, and concrete service yards. Deep foul and storm water drainage, laser levelling, attenuation tanks, precast L retaining walls and in-situ concrete retaining walls.  Concrete yards were valued engineered due to the high cost of mesh, so we introduced fibre reinforcement.

JB Construction 1 have successfully completed both the Earthworks and Phase 1 and 2 foundations for the MEPC Silverstone site. This included removing approx. 60,000m3 of material, utilising GPS dozers and excavators to stabilise the earthworks activities. The team also established all foundations, roads, car parks, and service yards including deep foul and storm water drainage laser levelling, attenuation tanks, precast L retaining walls and insitu concrete retaining walls. To make sure the project was completed on time and under budget, the team at JB Construction 1 employed value engineering by replacing mesh with fibre reinforcement for concreting yards. This saved money yet still ensured a quality construction finish. The JB Construction 1 team did an excellent job in completing Phase 1 and 2 of the MEPC Silverstone project and delivered quality result for Barnwood Constructions on time and within budget.
